Bulgaria's flag carrier "Bulgaria Air" is adding three new destinations to its time-table, thus aiming to enlarge its share on the local market.
In April “Bulgaria Air” will start servicing flights from Sofia to Dublin twice a week, while the summer time-table will include flights from Dublin to Bulgaria's Black Sea airports – Varna and Bourgas.
The company will also have regular flights from Bourgas to London, from Varna to Milan, and from Varna/Bourgas to Kuwait. The airline will hire 5 new Boeing machines and will have a park of 12 planes.
“Bulgaria Air” is now holding the largest share on the local airline’s market - 30% and is expecting good profits for 2006. In 2004 the company recorded a profit of BGN 1,700,000.
In the words of Executive Director Zlatin Sarastov, the company is not immunized to the restructuring process in the airlines branch, the entry of low-budget airlines on the local market and the hikes of fuel prices in 2005.
Currently “Bulgaria Air” flies to nineteen destinations, among which are London, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Brussels, Madrid, Lisbon, Milan and Frankfurt.
